This training is offered only as an in-company programme and covers both counterbalance and reach trucks.

Who is the course intended for?
This course is intended for anyone required to operate forklift truck as part of their job but have no experience
Duration:
5 Days
Training methodology:
This course is a classroom based and instructor led presentation, supplemented by videos and discussions and the practical driving exercises.

MCQ & practical assessment
Accreditation/Certification:
On successful completion of the training participants will receive an Certificate of Competence valid for 3 years. All our instructors are RTITB certified.

Course Objectives

On the completion of this course, participants will be able to:

  • Operate a forklift safely using correct driving techniques
  • Demonstrate safe loading/unloading, movement of loads, stacking, de-stacking in a racking system
  • Refuel and recharge forklift safely
  • Perform and document pre-use inspections
  • Understand stability and lifting capabilities

  • Safe driving practices
  • Vehicle controls and daily inspections
  • Forklift – battery care or refuelling
  • Correct forklift truck operating technique
  • Safe Working loads
  • Forklift stability
  • Safe start up and manoeuvre the forklift in open and confined spaces
  • Picking up and putting down the load at different heights correctly
  • Understand and carry out undercutting correctly
  • Safely park and stop truck at end of operating
  • Select, fit and detach attachments for bulk materials and operate the load and unload the bulk material safely
